This weeks Creative Show & Tell took place at the wonderful Town Bike Pitstop in Chippendale. As we slurped our coffees and munched our toasties, we discussed what has inspired us this week, and as you can see, it's quite a mixed bag.
INSPO #1 // Butter, Sydney
My inspiration this week came about when meeting up with some friends on Monday. Butter is a friend chicken come Champagne come sneaker bar, and it's as amazing as it sounds.
What I love most about Butter (other than the fried chicken), is their branding. Butter is a perfect example of what us here at Dream & Do are always on about. A strong, well-constructed brand is key to the success of a new company. The concept and collaborations are incredibly important, and Butter has done them well, but what makes them stand out from the pack is style and tone of voice. It's fresh, it's different and it's consistent across all of their mediums i.e. social, website, campaign imagery.
So thank you Butter, we love that you get it!

INSPO #2 // Animalium by Katie Scott & Jenny Broom
Last year, my friend showed me a beautifully illustrated kids book called "Animalium" curated by Katie Scott & Jenny Broom. After she showed me the book, I quickly bought a copy myself because the illustrations were absolutely breath taking. It's like Botanica meets Britannica and it's an introduction to the types animals you see around the world. The animals are illustrated in a old encyclopedia diagram style (like in a fig A, fig B), it explains the groups without over complicating - it's basically a mini museum in a book. The publisher "Big Picture Press" does a whole lot of other books like "Animalium", such as "Historium", "Maps poster book" & "Infographics: Space", but this one is by far my favourite. I can totally imagine these illustrations going on skincare products, perfumes or even a florist. Can't wait for client like this to come along!

INSPO #3 // Flavour Thesaurus
My show and tell this week is the Flavour Thesaurus. Basically, you choose what main ingredient you have and it tells you all the different pairings of flavours that go with it. I love the design of the book and I also love how practical it is as sometimes you have what you have in the fridge and you don't know what to cook with it, so this represents a more creative way to cook outside of the recipe.
This sparked an idea for a book to come up with an idea. Pairing random things together to get to a new solution is a great way of coming up with an original idea and a book like this could be a great tool.

INSPO #4 // 'CLOUD' by Caitland R.C. Brown & Wayne Garrett
I stumbled across the beautiful art installation 'CLOUD' by Canadian Artists Caitlind R.C. Brown & Wayne Garrett which I thought is all too well aligned with Dream & Do. It is an interactive sculpture created from 6,000 incandescent light blubs, both burn-out and working.
It's simple, playful and bright. A symbol of optimism. It's a universal work that has the ability to pass all language barriers for everyone can understands clouds. These experiential art installations always leave me feeling incredibly inspired, giving me a new appreciation for something as common place as the incandescent light bulb and seeing things in a new light.
CLOUD is one of their most famous pieces however they have created many other inspiring works such as 'Solar Flare', 'Deep Dark' and 'In the Belly of a Bear' that I highly recommend you have a look at.
I hope to see one of their works in Australia!
Dream & Do light installation coming to you soon.
